Dear IGCSE Candidates,
There is a change of syllabus for Cambridge IGCSE Accounting (0452) from the current year 2018/19 sessions. The students who are willing to take exams from year 2020 will have to opt for the updated syllabus. For your ease, the comparison is given as under:
IGCSE Accounting Paper 1 - Syllabus Changes:
Previously, the time for IGCSE Accounting Paper 1 was 1 hour and 45 minutes. It was the numerical based paper with eight to twelve MCQ questions. From all of the book, there were upto 5 questions based on topics from different areas. All were compulsory questions. The total weight-age of this paper was 50% with 120 Marks.
Now, for IGCSE Accounting Paper 1 as per updated syllabus of 2020 will have the same time of 1 hours and 45 minutes but the major change in the paper will be, the change of question types. Now, all the questions will be either short questions / MCQs containing 30% weight-age and 35 Marks in Total.

IGCSE Accounting Paper 2 - Syllabus Changes:
There is no major change in timings of IGCSE Accounting Paper 2 but the allocation of marks will now be raised to 70% of the Total which consists of 100 Marks (50% and 120 Marks Previously). This time the IGCSE Accounting Paper 2 will be purely structured paper from all areas of the book.
